One day, not long after
Just after this conversation, I went for a walk through a forested area near where I live. As I walked, I suddenly saw this man in my mind’s eye, just as Valerie had described him. When I arrived home, I immediately called her: “I saw him, too!”
As we talked, we connected with him. The name Alpha came to me. Then Valerie told me she had heard the name Adam. Alpha. Adam. Clearly we were talking about the beginning of it all.
Then I heard the word “Ur,” not a word I was familiar with. We looked it up in the dictionary, and found that it was defined as a prefix meaning primeval or original. We then looked up Ur on Wikipedia, where it was defined as the first continent on earth, now a part of Australia.
And so we now call him the Man from Ur. The first man. Adam. Alpha. The beginning.
On our second Group Adventure, the Man from Ur appeared. Our movie was drawn from that experience. But it was not a one-time experience. He now appears to us every Adventure, for he knows, as we now do, that these Adventures are actually deeply important.
The Man from Ur is coming to us to bring us back to that place of pristine wonder that was the earth so that we may know it in our hearts and then expand that knowledge out and out, further and further, until all of us, feeling it and knowing it in our hearts, restore the precious earth from the inside out. And by this we mean, becoming first the change we seek, deep inside of our hearts.
The music in the movie is my own recording of Amazing Grace, with changes in the lyrics to bring it more into our time. You may download a recording of the song on www.carriehart.com.
